GENERAL ELECTION.
FRANKLIN SEAT. Press Association. AUCKLAND, November 8. Mr E. Piggott, president of the _'.uckland branch of the Farmers' Union, will contest the Franklin scat against the Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey, in the interests of the New Zealand Labour Party. RIOCARTON SEAT. The Labour candidate, Mr J. Robertson, addressed a meeting of electors at Yaldhurst on Saturday evening. The candidate's address, particularly on the land question, was listened to throughout with attention, and, after a number of questions had been answered at the . close, a vote of thanks was unanimously carried. Mr J. Barr presided ovor the meeting.
