Strange to relate, he stated, the Amberley Court was the first court in which he presided as a magistrate, 10 years ago, and so it- proved to be the last court he would preside in before being transferred. He was a .past president of the Amuri Agricultural and Pastoral Association, a large and successful exhibitor at its shows, and one of the mainstays of that body. For several years his flock of Corriedales has been almost invincible in the district. He was also a prominent member of the Waiau Farmers' Union, a director of the Waiau Farmers' Saleyards Company, and during the war period a very liberal contributor to all patriotic functions. Only a few weeks ago his name was prominent among the prize-winners at the various collie dog trials. Mrs Little and a young family survive.
