I-Ilingworth, PostmasterGeneral, announced in the House of Commons that the annual loss on the telegraph service was £1,000,000, and on the telephone service £400,000. Replying to complaints regarding the vagueness of the Government's economic policy, Sir Auckland Geddes, in the House of Commons, said the Government had formulated a permanent trade policy in the fullest detail, and was only awaiting the right moment to announce it.
