AMERICAN CONTRACT. The contract in respect of the balance of tbe Dominion wool purchased by the American Government from the j British Government has been cancelled. J The original contract was for 106,000 [bales an.l 36,3] 6 bales hare been dejlivered. The balance, 03,684 bates, will now be taken over by the Imperial I Government. I Advice to this effect has been received by Mr W. L Carney, of Cfcrbtichuroi, general manager for Anstralasia of Armonr and Cor. In addition to the Dominion wool," 200,900 bales were purchased from Australia, and the ! eon tract h3s also been cancelled in I respect of the undelivered balance of this. The cancellation has followed on a conference between five representatives of America and Great Britain in respect to war-time contracts. Many contracts as a result were cancelled by each side.
