WEDDINGS.

A pretty wedding was celebrated at the' Methodist Church, Upper Riceartou, on Wednesday last, the bride being Missi I Ruby Woodfield, youngest daughter of I Mr and Mrs Woodfield, of Soekburn, andi the bridegroom Mr "Leslie Seaward, eldest j son of Mr and Mrs G. Seaward, Sewell Street, Kaiapoi. Tho bride, who was given away by her father, looked charm-! ing in a frock of handsomely embroidered j net over white silk, tulle veil with sprays I of orango blossoms, - and carrying a shower bouquet with streamers of white ribbon. Miss Estelle Eagle, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid, wearing a pretty frock of champagne voile with black picture hat lined with champagne, and trimmed with a small wreath of champagne flowers. She carried a bouquet of flowers in the same tone. Mr Ernest i Seaward, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. The wedding break-1 fast was held at tho Riecarton Hall, after, which tho newly-wedded couple left for the south amidst showers of rice and confetti. A wedding of considerable uitcrest was solemnised on Thursday at the Oxford) Terrace Baptist Church, the Rev. J. J.' North officiating, Miss Yvonne Clarke, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs S. B. Clarke, of Halswell, being married to MiErnest Vincent Smith, eldest son of Mr and Mrs S. P. Smith, of Christchurch. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dainty gown of ivory crepe de Chine and the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful bouquet. There were two bridesmaids, Miss Minnie Lee and Miss Doreon Clarke (sister of the bride). Miss Lee wore a dainty frock of old gold crepe de Chine and a blue georgette hat to match. Miss Doreen Clarke wore a cream silk dress embroidered with blue. The duties of best man were carried j out by Mr Charles Elson. The bridegroom and best man are both returned Anzacs. After the ceremony a large number of relatives and friends assembled at the '' Cadena,'' where the wedding breakfast was served and the usual toasts were honoured. Later in the afternoon Mr and Mrs Vincent Smith left for a short motoring tour, after which they will go to Wellington to join the Rcmiiera, which leaves shortly for England. A very pretty wedding was celebrated at the Eangiora Methodist Church on Wednesday last, when; Sergt. G. R. McMillan, M.M. (late Main Body), was married to Miss Jean Adamson, of South- . brook. The Rev. Mr Guy officiated. The | bride entered the church on the ,arm of hot father and looked charming in a dainty'frock, of White crepe de Chine, embroidered in silk and pearls, the train being lined with delicate pink crepe de Chine. Her beautiful embroidered veil was arranged mob cap style, finished With a Wreath of orange blossoms, and she carried a white bouquet/ The bride was attended by Miss Mamie Drage as bridesmaid and Jean Tuer and Tiny Hawkins as flower girls. The bridesmaid looked well in a dress of pale blue crepe-de Chine with touches of black, and wore a black tulle hat relieved with' georgette flowers, and carried.a shower bouquet... The little girls looked very sweet in white voile dresses embroidered in- pink and blue, finished with ])iuk sashes. They wore black picture hats and carried baskets of flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Private S, Canavon (a returned Anzac). Both were in uniform. Mr T. Withers presided at the organ. The church was tastefully decorated, a floral wedding bell, made by ""the girl friends of the bride, was much admired. The bride's travelling costume was of fawn gaberdine and she wore a hat of electric blue velvet. Later, midst showers of confetti, Sergt. and Mrs McMillan left by motor for their honeymoon in the south.
