' The "Daily Telegraph" has commenced the publication of Viscount French's book, entitled "1914." It deals with the utmost candour with his relations with Lord Kitchener during the Moiis retreat and the shortage of ammunition and reinforcements early in 1915. Marshal Foch contributes a preface dealing with the German rushes for the seaports, "and shows the immense importance of the battle for Ypres. He says that Viscount French kept his troops up to Wellington's level.
