The Medical Council has decided to recommend the Cabinet to defer the question of lifting the influenza restrictions for a fortnight. The decision includes racing. The, Cabinet will consider the matter to-morrow. EPIDEMIC COMMISSION. Press Association. WELLINGTON,* April 28. An extension of time for the completion of the report of the Epidemic Commission has been decided upon. It is probable that the extension will be for one month. JAPANESE ABANDON VISIT. (Rec. Apr. 29,11.0) MELBOURNE, Apr. 29. Owing to the prevalence of influenza, the Japanese squadron has cancelled its \isit to the eastern States. QUARANTINE AREAS. (Rec. April 20, 11,0) SYDNEY, April 29. Mr Massy Green informed a deputation that he was urging the reimoval of the quarantine area from I North Head and that officers-of the department were preparing a report upon the suitability of Port Stephens as a quarantine port for New South Wales. It was unlikely that Cabinet would interfere with the Consultative Medical Council's recommendations.
