Mr J. T. Brice, who is a member of the Lyttelton Borough Council, is seriously ill in the Lewisham Hospital. j Mr T. W. Rowe left last evening for Napier in order to atteud the opening session of the Anglican General Synod to-morrow. Mr J. B. Laurenson has been elected unopposed on the South Waimakariri Board in succession to the late Mr Charles Burgess. Mr H. D. Andrews leaves by tonight's ferry steamer to attend the session of the General Synod at Napier. He is accompanied by Mrs Andrews. -Mr W. Hart, second clerk at the Christehnreh Magistrate's Court, but relieving at Oamaru at present, has been api>oiuted as clerk of the Court at Waimate. The Primate (Bishop Nevill) and the Yen. Archdeacon Fitchctt, of Duuedin, passed through Christehurch last evening on their way to attend the opening of the Anglican General Synod at Napier. The Christehurch City Council last evening appointed Crs E. J. Howard, A. McKellar and W. Nkholls, Dr C. Chilton and Mr n. J. Beswiek as its represen'atives on the Christehurch Domains Board. Advice has been received by Mrs J. Foster, of Hewitt's Road, Merivale, that her sou Staff Sergt.-Major W. A. Foster, N.Z.M.C. at present attached to New Zealand Headquarters, London, has been decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal. New appointments to n.M.S. New Zealand were gazetted at the end of February as follow:—Commander B. H. Ramsay, M.V.0., (additional) as FlagCommander; Commander H. R. Sawbridge (additional); Lieut.-Commander R. H. F. de Sails, D.5.0., (additional); Lieut. L. V. Morgan, M.V.0., D.5.0., (additional) as Flag-Lieut, to Admiral Lord Jellicoe. Mr Clutha Mackenzie, son of the High Commissioner, is returning to the Dominion in H.M.S. NewZealand.
