SELWYN PLANTATION BOARD.

TO-DAY'S MEETING. The Schvyn Plantation Board met this morning, when there were present—Mr \V. 11. Skinner (Commissioner of Crown Lands, in the chair), and Messrs G. Witty, M.P.; G. Scott, B. M. Morten, S. A. Staples, B. Nairn. G. Bedford, \V. Hall, \V. X. Popple, and J. VVoolfe. A communication was received from the district railway engineer disclaiming liability in respect of the lire in Pascoe's reserve. > It was decided to get inlo touch with the Selwyn County Council with reference to laying on a water supply to Bennett's Reserve. The resignation of Mr G. Seott from the Timber Commission was accepted with regret. With regard to a letter from the clerk of the Springs County Council drawing attention to the gorge growing on the South Road fronting Reserves 1750 and ITS'), near Burnham, the matter was referred to the superintendent. •■ Mr Nairn submitted a report on the Darfield Nursery. There was every reason to be satisfied with it, the report stated, and the trees planted out were in splendid condition.
