The Koromiko which arrived from Newcastle on Saturday morning with a full cargo of coal, was berthed at No. (i wharf, the same evening, and commenced discharge this morning. The Pohcrua after unloading the Lyttellon portion of her Westport coal cargo lert en Saturday night for Oamaru and Dunedin where the balance will be pat out. The Blackball Coal Company's Canopus left LytteUon on Saturday afternoon for Westport. The Breeze arrived on Saturday morning •with a big general cargo from the south. After discharging a considerable quantity she re-loaded various consignments of merchandise Tor Picton and Wanganui, and sailed in the evening. The Kotare on completing the discharge of her load of timber from Nydia Buy on Saturday, shipped mixed merchandise and left in the evening for Duncdin. The Storm from Timaru, via Oamaru, reached this port last night with a full load of tallow, she has been limed to sail tonight with general cargo Tor Wellington and Wanganui.

due at Wellington to-morrow from Newcastle. The Government steamer Hincmoa was to leave Port Chalmers on Saturday for the southern and West Coast lighthouses. The Kittawa from Westport was due at Napier on Saturday. The Kamona is loading at Westport for Wellington. The Rosamond from Napier was expected to arrive at Gisbornc on Saturday night. The Karamu is discharging a cargo of Grcymouth coal at Napier. The Kini arrived at Greymouth on Friday morning from Westport to complete her cargo for Oamaru and Dunedin. The Mapourika, which has been overhauled at Wellington, leaves there to-day cargo-laden for Auckland. The Mokoia arrived at Wellington from Auckland on Saturday. After discharge she will load general cargo for Dunedin for which port she is to sail to-morrow. The Ngatoro from Greymouth is due at Wellington to-day. The Ngakuta is to load at Newcastle for Dunedin.

The Waihorn from Bluff arrived at Dunedin on Friday. She lias about 1000 tons of Eastern cargo to discharge at that port. To-morrow she is due at Lyttclton, Auckland being her next port of call. The steamer Middleham Castle was due at Wellington on Saturday from Auckland. She is to leave Wellington to-morrow for Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge. The new American steamer Duquesnc is expected to leave New York this month for Wellington, Lyttclton, Dunedin, Melbourne and Sydney. The Union Company's barque, Dartford, is now 55 days on her passage from Vancouver to Wellington, where her arrival is anticipated at any time. The War Opal from New York, via Auckland and Wellington, is due here on Thursday. She will sail in due course for Dunedin, to complete discharge, which is being supervised by the Commonwealth and Dominion Line. She will be loaded in New Zealand for England by the. Federal-Shire Line. The Mamari from Rluff should reach Wellington to-day to finish loading for Home. She is to sail on March 21 for London via Colombo and Bombay. The Argyllshire has been fixed to leave Wellington on March 25 for Liverpool, via Colombo and Bombay. The Ajana which should arrive about the end of the month at Auckland with troops, will load for Liverpool at Waitara, Wanganui and Wellington. She is to sail from the last-named port about the middle of April for Liverpool via Panama. The liner Westmoreland, due about April 14 at Auckland, from Liverpool, will not visit any other New Zealand port, but will proceed to Australia to complete discharge. Her. first port of discharge is Auckland, whence she returns to Wellington about March 24. She is due three days later at Lyttclton, where she will unload some 350 tons or general cargo, and ship a quantity of butter and cheese. The balance or her freight will be discharged at Port Chalmers. Thereafter, she will load at that port, and at Timaru. and is expected back at Wellington on April 9. She is to sail six days later for London. ISLAND STEAMER. j The Talune from the Friendly Islands and Samoa, arrived at Suva on Friday, and laden with fruit was to leave the following day for Auckland, where she is due. on Wednesdav. She is expected to sail about March 24 for the Western Pacific Islands. THE PERTH. The Australian collier Perth, was expected at Wellington on Saturday from Newcastle with coal for Miramar. After discharge she will go to Greymouth to load timber lor Newcastle. MANUKA AND NIAGARA. The Union Steam Ship Company's Manuka leaves Auckland to-morrow for Sydney, and the Niagara sails on April 4 for Vancouver, via Suva and Honolulu. PERSONAL. Mr E. Jackson is again mate on the BadenPowell, in succession to Mr G. G. Sang. Mr A. J. Drew has been succeeded by Mr fl. Campbell as third engineer of the Kamo. Captain D. Macdonald is to have command of the Mapourika, Mr Baigent and Mr Hackworth are to be chiel and second officer respectively. OVERSEAS VESSELS. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Ruapchu left Wellington on Saturday for London via Panama. A GOOD TOW. It is very rare that a tug has the luck to tow two sailing vessels into port together, more so in these times, when there are so few sailing vessels coming to the colonies (savs the Sydney "Shipping List"). Messrs J. and J. Daley's paddle tug Koputai, originally from Duncdin, appeared oil the Heads with the three-masted schooner W. F. Jcwett and the big four-masted barquentine Conqueror in tow, and later on took them to an anchorage in the stream. The last double tow was done by Messrs I-en-wick and Co.'s tug Hero, which picked up two four-inastcd schooners oil' Port Stephens, and towed them to Sydney. A FISHING VENTURE. Captain Stuart, lately of the Kaitoa, has resigned from the Anchor Co.'s service to enter the fishing industry, having taken over Mr E. G. F. Zohrab's tug Riwaka for that purpose. Captain Wiidman, seiir._, who has been acting harbourmaster at Nelson during the absence of Captain Collins on holiday leave, has resumed command of the Kaitoa. AUSTRALIAN SHIPBUILDING. The steamer Bilaclla, called after the original name of the place of her construction, is to be launched at Cockatoo Island this month. She is the first steamer entirely built in Australia of Australian design, and approved by the Government Shipping authorities. The vessel is 7000 tons deadweight, and over 1100 tons of oil can be carried in her water ballast tanks. BELFAST SHIPBUILDING RECORD. Messrs Harland and Wolff, Ltd., Belfast, recently launched their eighth standard ship, the War Jasmine, which is of the A cargo-carrying type, and about 8200 tons deadweight. The keel was laid in July last year and the vessel was brought to the launching stage in 20 weeks and one day, which constitutes a record, being the shortest time taken for a standard ship by any builder in England or Scotland. The firm also launched from Queen's Island the steamer War Priam, a standard cargo ship of the Government G type. The length of this vessel is 450 feet, her gross tonnage being 8000, with a cargo-carrying capacity of 11,500 tons, and a speed of II knots. This is the sixteenth standard vessel launched from Queen's Island, the aggregate gross tonnage being almost 87,000.
