VICTORIA RACING CLUB. AUTUMN MEETING. Bu Gable — Press Association — Copyright. MELBOURNE, March 15. The autumn meeting of the Victoria Racing Club was opened to-day in fine but dull weather. The going was soft. In the Pines Hurdle Handicap the favourite. Percolator, lost his rider, G. Call, who fractured his skull. Euseblus, who was a hot favourite, smothered the field in the St. Leger, winning witli a lot in hand. He incurs no extra weight for the Australian (.up. Molly s Robe was always prominent in the Newmarket Handicap, and she won by a narrow margin from Sir Ibex, who came very fast at the end. Lingerie finished fourteenth and Hoprig (ridden by .T. OShea) sixteenth. Molly's Robe, who is owned in Queensland, holds the Australasian record for eleven furlongs. Lisnavane. who won the Sires' Produce Stakes brilliantly, is a half-sister to Cetinge. The Esseudon Stakes was only an exercise gallop for Star Comedian. Scornful, ridden by O'Shea, lost Mcond place in the last furlong. The following arc details of the racing:—
