The annual meeting' of the Soldiers' Farewelling and Welcoming Home Com. niittee was held in tho Memorial Hall, Mr I). Gillanders presiding. The annual report was read, and the balancesheet, showing a credit of £5, was adopted. Votes of thanks were accorded to the ladies of the district who had assisted at the many functions. The following were elected a committee for the ensuing year: Messrs T). Gillanders (president), F. J. Narbev, F. H. Trickett, W. E. McKay, L.' R. Ellis, W. Gibson, A. Otten, and E. V. "Worthington (secretary and treasurer). Mrs W. F. Clinton has received a communication dated April 21 from Captain A. H. Richards expressing sincere regret ami sympathy at the loss of her son, Private T. Clinton, who was killed in action on April 18. His commanding officer stated that the late soldier was a warm favourite with his comrades, and a good soldier. The rites of burial, the letter stated, were performed by a French priest.
