Owing to the unfavourable weather conditions yesterday for the handling of cargo, work on the waterfront at Lyttclton was practically suspended since 10 o'clock in the morning. As i consequence, the Rosamond, which was due to sail for Timaru, Whangape for Auckland, Breeze for Picton, Kin! for Westport, llhnltangi and Karu for Wellington, and Kotare for Duncdin and Invercargill were all held up. It is hoped, however, to have them dispatched to-day for their various destinations.

'.Tile Orepuki, which has been borbound at Greymouth, left there yesterday morning for Lyttclton, where she is expected early on Sunday, and will return to her former pott on Tuesday. The Whangape leaves this evening for Auckland direct. * A Press Association message from Wellington states that information under the War Regulations have been issued by the Grown Law Office against the firemen on the Pateeua who lelt the ship some .time ago and held it up In Wellington. ' The men will be charged with taking part in an alleged seditious strike, and the cases will be heard at the Magistrate's Court next Friday, 'the men left the ship after giving notice, out of sympathy with a fireman who was dismissed for refusing to obey an order to clean a mat which he soiled on emerging from the stokehold. The Wootton leaves Wellington to-night for Lyttclton, where she is expected to arrive to-morrow evening. She wiil sail again on Monday night on the return trip north. The Defender will sail from Wellington at noon to-day for Lyttclton. The John was delayed at Wanganui on Thursday owing to rain, and she is now timed to sai! to-day from Wellington for Duncdin direct. The Blackball Company's Ngakuta was due to sail from Wellington last night for Greymouth, where she will load for Lyttclton. The Mana and Taintii will be in Lyttclton to-morrow. Both will leave on Monday afternoon for Wellington.
