rrr** jMoria/iei.. WELLINGTON, June IS. Several purchases of lan<l suitable for occupation by returned soldiers in small holdings were approved bv Cabinet today. Explaining what is being done, the Hon. I>. H. Guthrie said provision ha-l been made for returned soldiers wanting good land for dairying. The Government had received several offers of such land in suitable localities wher* there was every chance of settlers making good. Several of these properties had already been purchas-H. and reltimed soldiers were waiting to tako them up. He was convinced thru -;n!diets goiug on the land lin-' the very Pest prospects of success. A number of farms had been purchased from men goinj; to the front, so that men who had returned from the war would be takiug the places of men going on service.
