THE CONCLUSION. Buoyant values and fair entries, particularly of fat stock, distinguished tlic weekly sale at the Addlngton salcyards yesterday. A healthy activity by exporters in the heel section was rather ill contradistinction to the state of- affairs ruling lately, whilst a much hetter inquiry characterised the previously neglected store sheen market, 'ihe attendance was a good one. FAT SHEEP. Some very prime lots were offered in the fat sheep section, where the entry was extremely large, filling twelve races. Ewes •were more in evidence than wethers. The bulk or the store cattle entry consisted of indifferent sorts, a few lines of steers being the only exception to this state of affairs. The yarding was a moderate one. The demand was on a par with the indifferent quality represented, the poorer sorts being comparatively neglected. Eightccn-nionths to two year-old steers made to £7 17/(1, same age; heifers £0 17/0, two-and-a-half to three-year-old steers £ll, and dry cows £0 !>/- to £7 10/-. DAIRY COWS. A splendid penning of dairy cows sold veil. The entry was exceptionally good, some high-class springers being included. Heifers sold from £7 5/- to £l9 15/-, whilst dairy cows brought from £7 10/- to £22. VEALERS. A fair entry of vealcrs comprised some VCry good sorts. The demand was good, values ruling as follow: Runners, £0 1/- io £8 7/0. Good vealers, £3 9/- to £5 18/-. Fair vealers, £2 1/- to £3 1/-. •* Small and inferior sorts, 4/- tcs £1 10/-. STORE PIGS. A really good demand distinguished the stoic pig section, in striking contrast to the state of affairs which characterised last week. The entry was only a medium one, and was disposed of at the following figures:— Rest stores, £.l to £:•, 0/-. Medium stores, £2 8/- to £2 18/-. Small stores, £1 5/- to £1 11/-. Weaners, 10/- to 22/-. Sows in pig, £5 to £0 15/-. BURNSIDE. Presi Association. DUNEDIX, May 20. Fat Cattle —127 were penned. Quality was medium to good. Owing to the short supply, prices advanced 15/-. Extra prime bullocks £25 5/-, prime £l9 19/- to £22 10/-, medium £l7 to £lB 10/-, light £ll to £lO, prime cows and heifers £ls 10/- to £l7 10/-, medium £ll 15/- to £l3 15/-. light and inferior £8 10/- to £ll 5/-. Fat Sheep.—363s were penned. There ■were some pens of very prime wethers and ewes, but a large numbr of medium quality. Prime sheep realised late rates. Butchers arid exporters were bidding freely for suitable Hues. Inferior was inclined to be a shade firmer. Extra prime wethers 03/-, prime 40/- to 55/-, medium .'(7/0 to 39/-, light and unfinished 28/0 to 33/9, extra prime ewes 50/6, prime 28/- to 40/-, medium 30/- to 3S/-6, inferior and light 2:!/- to 28/-. Lambs.—l7l were penned. Quality was very fair, and exporters competed freely at prices fully equal to late rates. Prime 30/- to 35/G, medium 20/9 to 28/0, light and Inferior 18/- to 25/-. Pigs.—There was n medium yarding of Stores and fats. Competition for the latter was less keen, and prices declined 5/- to JO/-. Stores sold at late rates.
