ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
KILLED BY A TREE. Prcs.i Association. DUNEDTN, April 24. Ernest Leidh was killed at Ta'uakopa, in the Catlins district, through a trco falling on him. FOUND IN A LAKE. NEW PLYMOUTH, April 24. The body of Mrs Osborne, wife of the Rev. S. S. Osborne, was found in the Pukokura Park Lake this morning. Lately the deceased had been suffering from nervous breakdown, aggravated by the loss of her son at the front. SUDDEN DEATH. A nine-year-old boy named Bernstein, residing with his parents at 23 Chapel Street, Papanui, died suddenly this morning. The child had been ailing for some time, but seemed better on retiring to bed last evening. Early this morning Dr. Whetter was called in, and found life to be extinct. An inquest will be held this afternoon.
