STREET COLLECTION AND FLOWER SALE. To-day is being observed as Day, the returned soldiers making theif effort on behalf of the Lady Liverpool Fund and the Salvation Army Comfort! Fund. The soldiers themselves are ac£f ing as collectors, their ranks being auj mented by lady helpers and other menf. bers of the civilian population. The public seems to be supporting the effort with fair generosity, and the badgeC which are given in return for a bution, are universal decorations. if Cathedral Square, near Broadway's, al attractive flower stall is being eonduc» ed to good purpose by Mrs B. W. Ait der=ou and Mrs A. F. Carey. The headquarters of the collectors art in the Chamber of Commerce, where ft staff of helpers are receiving and eoun» iug money, issuing boxes and badge* etc. At" 7.30 tonight Mrs Burne* Loughnan will direct a concert, to bb given in the Square, and the returned soldiers, in conjunction with the meny bers of the Fire Brigade, will hold a torchlight procession, leaving the asso» ciation rooms at 7.45. They will marca down Colombo Street and along Lieti» field Street to the fire station, where they will pick up the brigade, then via the Clock Tower along High Street, Hereford Street, Oxford Terrace, and along Armagh Street and Colombo Street back to the Square.
