. BRITISH IMPORTS. By CahU. — Press Association. — Covyriqht. (Rec. April 5, 8.25) LONDON. April 4. Considerable supplies of American bacon have arrived, and also large quantities of Australian and New Zealand butter, cheese, meat, and wool. The total imports of wool this year were nearly half a million bales. The tallow in stock Is 714 casks, the imports 516, and the deliveries 436. STUD CATTLE SALE. Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 4. The dispersal sale of stud Polled Aberdeen Angus cattle, belonging to the Gladbroo!; Estate, commenced to-day, when 100 lots comprising cows, heifers, and calves, were offered. About 400 people were present 100 of whom were from the North Island Tasmania, New South Wales, and Queensland. Competition was very keen for highclass young cattle, 375gs being obtained for Nap, a seven-year-old cow, which was purchased by Mr A. S. G. Carlyon, Hawke's Bay. The same buyer secured Susan, a two-year-old heifer, for 215gs. Prices for other cows ranged from 45gs to 140gs. With a few exceptions, the animals were purchased by Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa, and Gisbornc oreeders. Calves realised logs tc. lOOgs, the latter price being paid by a Hawke's Bay breeder. The total realised was £7704.
