AVON CLUB. The Avon Club rowed off the following races during the week:— Youths’ Single Sculls (for Mr Freeman’s medal). —First heat: E. McLachlan heat C. Keys. Second heat: E. Yeoman heat A. Henry. Final: E. Yeoman heat E. McLachlan. Won hy four lengths. Open Sculls Handicap (for Mr Jackson’s medal).—First heat: A. Keys beat C. Keys. Second heat: A. Henry heat F. Ryan. Third heat: A. Flint won hy default. Semi-final-First heat: E. Yeoman heat Henry. Second heat: A. Keys heat Flint. Final; E. Yeoman heat Keys. This was a good race for most of the journey. Y'coman rowed in line style hi both events. UNION CLUB. The following crews will represent the Union Rowing Club at Kaiapoi Regatta:— Junior Pair and Double Sculls.—ll. Layton (str.), A Freeman (bow). Maiden Double Sculls.—SV. Whittington (sir.), L. Gregory (how). Maiden Pair. —H. C. Ross (str.), L. Kirk (bow). Youths’ Pair and Double Sculls.—T. H. Grenfell (str.), L. Zimmerman (bow). Owing to a large number of oarsmen having to go into camp next week, training has been considerably interfered with. The Eouisson Four race will he commenced tomorrow evening. The next flannel dance will ho held on Wednesday next, and from then on it is intended to hold one every four weeks through the winter
