LIFE-SAVING.
CANTERBURY HEAD CENTRE,
The Canterbury Head Centre of the Royal Life-saving Society met last evening, Mr K. Bassett presiding. A letter was received from the headmaster of the Timaru Main School, stating that he had 10 pupils ready for examination.—lt was stated that Mr C. Bryant would be in Timaru about the end of this month, and would conduct the examination.
The resignation of Mr A. Osborne (who has gone to reside in Wanganui) as a member of the committee was accepted with regret. Awards were presented as follow: Proficiency Certificate and Bronze Medallion.—Emily E. Bishop, Albert E. Blank, Maurice V. Wilson, Norman G. Quick, John B. Nicholson, Arthur J. Oakley, Cyril V. Pruden, Sidney A. E. Chapman, Henry O. Williams, William Ashley, William S. A. C. Eodgers. Hon. Instructor's Certificate. —Douglas C. Davidson.
Teacher's Certificate. —Douglas C Davidson.
Proficiency Certificate.—Marjorie Murray, Corunna Walker. Messrs J. Wyn Irwin and W. H. Benson were appointed examiners.
