THE METROPOLITAN MARKET. There wag q fairly good attendance at tho Addington Metropolitan market to-day, where the yardiugs of sheep were large. Tho attention of farmers was again concentrated on, the store sheep section where values appear now to have settled somewhat from early season fluctuations and are extremely stable. STORE SHEEP. Store sheep came forward in the large numbers which have distinguished this section lately, the entry including North Island and Marlborough lines. Ewes again predominated, and graziers bid keenly, the sale being quite up to last week’s level. Values were particularly buoyant for good and forward linos, the inquiry slackening for backward or aged sorts. A line of twotooth corriedalo ewes submitted by the National Mortgage and Agency Coy., Ltd., brought 40/9. The range of prices was: — Two-tooth ewes, .HO/- to 40/9. Two and four-tooth ewes, to .HI /G. Four and six-tooth ewes, to 34/3. Six and eight-tooth ewes 24/9 to 34/-. Sound-mouth ewes, to 33/-. Two and four-tooth wethers, to 30/9. Ewe lambs, 20/- to 26/5. Mixed sex lambs, 13/- to 24/7. Wether lambs, 10/3 to 20/9. FAT LAMBS. There was a good sale of fat lambs, about 84d per lb. being paid. The number entered was 3331, and the quality was good. Exporters operated freely, and values ruled:— Extra prime lambs to 33/3. Prime lambs, 27/- to 30/6. Medium lambs, 24/6 to 26/6. Lighter sorts, 22/1 to 24/-. Sales included;— H. Buchanan (Little River), 66 28/3. FAT SHEEP. About nine races were filled with fat sheep, of average quality. FAT CATTLE. Although there were no beasts entered, in the fat cattle section as heavy as some of those penned last week, the quality was above the average. The entry, which included a big proportion of steers and heifers, was a good one. The sale opened with a somewhat slack note, but later improved, although towards tho end values again cased slightly. There was a largo number of heifers penned in a good entry of dairy cattle. The sale was a fair one, the demand being somewhat regulated by the large entry, but being keen for springers. STORE CATTLE. There were few large lines in the store cattle section, the penning being distinguished by the odds and ends entered. The entry was a small one. VEALBES. The entry of vealers was a small one of good quality. FAT PIGS There was a medium entry of fat pigs of good quality, but the number of porkers penned was small. Rates were about up to last week’s level, prices ranging;— Choppers, £3 to £7. Extra heavy baconcrs, to £6 12/-. Heavy baconers, £5 10/- to £6. Lighter baconers, £4 10/- to £5 5/-. Equal to 7Jd to 8d per lb. Heavy porkers, 75/- to 80/-. Lighter porkers, 57/- to 70/-. Equal to 94d to 101 d per lb.
