Colonel D. B. Blair, who has now been awarded the D.5.0., and was previously awarded the Military Cross, is well known in Ghristchureh. Xe was educated at the Wanganui Collegiate School. He served through the South African war, and afterwards was for many years in America. On "the inception'of the Territorial scheme in New Zealaud,he joined the New Zealand Staff Corps, and was adjutant to the Ist (Canterbury) Mounted Kifles (the C.Y.C.) until the outbreak of the present war, when he left with the Main Body as adjutant to the Canterbury Mounted Kegiment. Subsequently he transferred to the infantry. Colonel Blair married Mile Suzanne Gadrat, of Christchurch.
