ENEMY POISON PLOT. (Router) NFAV YORK, Oct. 31. A nation-wide plot to kill American soldiers by poisoning vaccine serum with tetanus germs is believed to have been discovered, following five mysterious deaths in one cantonment. PRISONERS IN TURKEY. (A. & N.Z.) LONDON, Oct. 31. In the House of Commons, Lieu-tenant-Colonel J. A. Hope said that the condition of British prisoners in Turkey was a constant anxiety. No definite reply had been received to the suggestion that English representatives should consult with the Turks. RECOVERY OF WOUNDED. ("The Times"') LONDON, Oct. 31. Dr Wood Hutchinson, lecturing before the Royal Society of Medicine, said that of the wounded surviving six hours after being struck, 90 per cent, recovered, ami 98 per cent, recovered if they reached hospitals. Owing to the masterly antiinfection control, and despite the colossal increase of instruments of slaughter, the war was one of the least deadly yet fought in comparison with the numbers engaged. ANTI-ZEPPELIN GUNS. (Renter) LONDON, Oct. 31. In the House of Commons, Mr Macpherson stated that London possessed guns that were able effectively to shell Zeppelins at their maximum height. SINN FEINERS ARRESTED. (Router) LONDON, Oct. 31. Ten Cork Sinn Fein leaders were imprisoned for participation in a recent demonstration, when a thousand volunteers paraded.
