THE CONCLUSION. Yesterday's double market at Addington was distinguished by larger entries generally and by a firmer tone, which ruled in most sections. Store sheep recovered to a certain extent from a sharp decline of the previous week, as also did store cattle. Butchers bought most classes of stock at prices below those ruling a fortnight ago. The attendance was a large one. FAT SHEEP.

The fat sheep entry was a large one, filling about ten races. A good proportion of the sheep were shorn. The sale commenced at the level at which the previous sale started. As the sale progressed, the opening rate was maintained, and was possibly slightly firmer towards the close. Prices were below those which ruled a fortnight ago, but were generally dearer than last week's.

The range of prices was:— Prime woolly wethers 42/- to 53/9. Lighter woolly wethers 38/6 to 41/9. Prime shorn wethers 37/- to 44/6. Lighter shorn wethers 30/- to 36/6. Woolly ewes 32/- to 45/6. The store cattle market was slightly firmer, but the entry was not so good as at the last few preceding sales. The dry cows were mostly of a good class, young cattle were scarce, but there were some nice three-year-old steers in forward condition. | Dry cows attracted a lesser demand than usual. The range of prices was as follows: — Two-year steers £8 15 - to £9. Three-year heifers £8 to I'll. Three- to five-year steers £l3 10,'-. Four- and five-year steers £ls Hi -. Five- and six-year steers £l7 5 '-. Dry cows £0 to £'.). DAIBY COWS. The offering was fairly large in the dairy cow section, and there was a Rood inquiry. Some of those offering were poor in condition and type, but the quality on the whole was fair. Good springers made from £l2 to £ls 5 '-, and other prices ranged from £8 upwards. VEALERS. The vealer section was well represented, and the yarding was a large one. A brisk demand resulted, and prices were good. Inferior calves made from 9'- to 25/-, small vealers 30'- to 45'-, good vealers £5 to £0 2 6, and runners £7 to £9 (heavy). FAT PIGS. Baconers declined in values about id per lb, and although porkers dropped for a space Id per lb, this class recovered to- ; wards the close of the sale. The entry was an extremely large one. Medium stores £2 2/- to £2 10/-. Small stores £1 13/- to £2. Weaners £1 4/- to £1 10/-. BURNSIDE. Press Association. DUNEDIN, October 31. Fat Cattle.—l 62 were penned. Only a small number of good bullocks were forward, prices for which advanced 15/- to 20/-, equal to 53/- to 02/- per 1001b. One extra prime heavy steer realised £34 15/-. Prime realised £24 to £29, medium £23, lighter £l6 10/- to £lB 10/-, heifers £lB to £l9 17/6, medium £ls 10/- to £l7 10'-, light £l2 to £l6 10/-. Sheep.—l 339 were penned. Quality was fairly good. Prices opened 1/6 above last week's values and closed 3/- to 4/- ahead of late rates.
