PRICE OF SMOKES.
ANOTHER INCREASE. Smokers are face lo face with another rise in the price of the fragrant weed. The Christchurch Hairdressers' and Tobacconists' Association has issued a circular to its members notifying them that it has been decided that from November 1 the following prices will take effect: — Winfred cigarettes (hitherto 7d) now 10 for 8d; 20 for 1/3. State Express 333 (hitherto 7d) now 10 for 8d; 20 lor 1/3; 50 for 3/-. Clarence (hitherto 7d) now 10 for 8d; 20 for 1/9; 50 for 4/-. Westminster A. A, Turk, 10 for 8d; Turf, 20 for 1/9; 50 for 4/-. Tobacco: Old Gold (hitherto 1/1 per packet) now 1/2. i The following cigars have been increased in price from Od to 7d each: —Ardath Clubi lands, Henry Clny's Darlings, Partngos, I Murios Flor dc Naves and Curly Tails.
