SUGAR FOR SOLDIERS.
RESTRICTING SHIPMENTS. NEGOTIATIONS STILL IN, PROGRESS. [From our own Parliamentary Reporter.} WELLINGTON, November 1. Sir Joseph Ward made a statement in the House to-day regarding the posting of sugar to New Zealand troops at the front. There had been many communications between the Government and the High Commissioner, in which it was stated by the Government that as sugar was not a commodity over which New Zealand had any difficulty, there was no necessity to impose any restriction on the shipment of sugar to the troops. Sir T. Mackenzie's final reply was that there was a good chance of the British Government allowing the delivery of the sugar already dispatched. He was still negotiating with the Home authorities on the subject. "No Rubbing" Laundry Help ami thrifty wives inseparable. Shilling packets always in stock. Local Grocers. .2
