NOTES. The John, which arrived in port this morning from Oamaru, is due to sail with general cargo for Wellington this evening. The John Anderson sailed to-d.iy for Akarna, and the Cygnet will also p'.ck up her old running to that port next week. The ferry steamer Maori, which lias been undergoing overhaul in Wellington, will leave that port tomorrow evening, and the Monowai. which has replaced the Maori, will take up her usual running between WeiUngton and Auckland, via Napier and Gisborne.
