ENEMY TAKE GORIZIA. (A. A S.Z. .v Reuter) LONDON, Oct. 29. A German oflicial message says:— The rapid development of our united attack on the Isonzo was entirely successful on Saturday. A powerful thrust threw back the Italians seeking to prevent us; emerging from the mountains. We entered Cividale, which is burning. The Austrians and Germans took Gorizia early this morning. An Italian oflicial message says:— The failing resistance of some units forming the Second Army, who! retired in cowardice, without fight-1 big, or surrendered, allowed the Austro-Germans to penetrate our) left wing on the Julian front, andi the valiant efforts of our troops were unable to prevent the enemy advancing into Italy's sacred soil. We arc withdrawing our line according to' plan prepared. All stores and depots in the evacuated places have been destroyed.
