CONSTANTINOPLE RAID.
ENEMY SURPRISED. MUCH DAMAGE DONE. A. and S.Z. fnllt Attoriation and Iteuttr. (Received Julv 12, 12.55 p.m.) LONDON, July 11. The Admiralty reported that the eastern Mediterranean naval air service succcssfiillv attacked the TurkoGerman ficet king off Constantinople. They located the Goebcn surrounded by warships and submarines, and attacked from a height of 800 feet, directly hitting the Goeben and other ships. Big explosions and several tires occurred aboard the vessels. The airmen also directly hit the War Office. The enemy was apparently completely surprised, as no anti-aircraft guns were utilised till after bombs were dropped. The airmen returned safely.
