Chang Hsuan has handed over the control of tiie Gendarmerie. Trains leaving Peking were searched and this prevented suspects from escaping. The Imperialist General Fen-Lin-Kuo was thus arrested disguised in civilian attire. It is reported that Chang Hsuan has taken refuge in the British Legation. The majority of his troops are within the Imperial Palace.
