LYTTELTON METHODIST CHURCH
The quarterly meeting of tho Lyttelton Methodist - Church was held on Tuesday, July 10. The Rev. J. G. Parsons presided, and (here was a good attendance of officers. Reports on the 1 quarter's work were considered very 1 satisfactory. The balance-sheet showed that income balanced expenditure. The work among the young people had been | a markedly successful feature of the j work done. As the outcome of Young I People’s Day two new week evening (lasses had been formed, while the Sunday School and “Morning Star” brigade had been considerably strengthened. Tho Sunday School anniversary had been successful also. Foreign j Mission services had realised £5 14/-, j while personal subscriptions were also i being received. The Trust Fund had j benefited by the sum of over £IOO, as ai result of the annual chrysanthemum ! show. Temperance and Public Morals i Committee resolutions were dismissed, j : and tin' suggestion that a resolution | urging the Government to pass the pro- : posed 0 o’clock closing measure be sub-1 mitted to Die congregation at an early I date was approved. A resolution thank- j ing Mr and Mrs Parsons for their cease-1 less efforts on behalf of the church was heartilv carried. 1
