TROTTING CONFERENCE.

In reply to :i protest from the Westport Trotting Club re- J garding the curtailment of racing days as i affecting that district, the Minister said thai the question of adjustment was one for the ' Conference. 1 The Conference adopted a motion of sym- ■ pathy with relatives of those connected -itll hj the sport who had fallen in the war. Remits were adopted providing for the replacement of rule IS hy one empowering the Conference at any time to institute an inquiry into the affairs of an association or any club, hear and determine appeals, and recommend what clubs shall receive totalisator licenses; that fourteen days' notice he given of intention to appeal. A remit proposing that clubs holding more than one meeting annually shall include, in addition lo those provided in rule ' .S7. one race for three-year-old unhoppled • trotters, was withdrawn. -, The report was adopted. j The Rules Revision Committee rceojn- , mended that the whole of the Rules of .
