PARKS PENINSULA.
From Our Own Correspondent. A meeting of the St Peter's Church Parochial Association was held in tin 1 church to consider the question of disposing of about £lB collected by the Association. After considering various suggestions it was decided to put in a coloured-glass window at the west end of the church, to take the place of the present one, now out of repair, and to put down new matting between the choir stalls in the nave of the church. .Mrs L. Qlark and Miss R. Tabart, representing the Piunket Association in Christchurch, visited Akaroa last Thursday in the interest of the fund for the Home for Babies. A meeting was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, the Mayor of Akaroa presiding, at which the Indies explained the object of their visit and the urgent need for a home being provided for babies in Christchurch. Promises of support were given in the hall, am! arrangements made for a canvass of the district.
