THE CANTERBURY NAMES OVER 900 RESERVISTS CALLED TO THE COLOURS. *» LIST ISSUED LAST NIGHT. The 2.)ih Reinforcement, which is to be mobilised on May 1, shows a national shortage of 1501, and in order to fill up the gaps a ballot for 4503 names was drawn on Monday, March 6. As a result of the ballot 947 reservists in the three districts of Canterbury Mere called up. The figures for the respective districts were as follow:

North Canterbury was the only district, in the Dominion which was unable to furnish one fit voluntary recruit for the draft, the first time this has happened in the history of any district. The "Gazette" containing the names of the men drawn in the ballot was released last night. Following are the names of the Canterbury men called up:—
