Bonar Law (Chancllor of th Exchequer) said that the evidence taken fcy the Dardanelles Commission •would not he published. Rcplving to Mr Asquith, Mr Bonar Law said that the Commissioners did not recommend the publication of the evidence; becai&e.it contained portions dealing \\ naval and military considerations, and the Government's relations with the Alhojs, therefore it could hot be published deirini^nt J6; the public interest. . In the circuiustaftccs the Government was not prepared to order its publication. A member asked -whether it was wise to issue the report. Mr Bonar Law: The Government is bound by the Act creating the Commission. Mr Winston Churchill: Who is responsible for the excisions? Mr Bonar Law: They were made at the request of the Foreign Office,the War Office, and the Admiralty, but Cabinet is finally responsible. Mr Pemberton Billing asked if the names of a Minister and ex-Minister appeared in the excisions. Mr Bonar Law: I cannot answer such a question.
