The Chamber of Commerce has fixed the ; f.n.q. standard for this season's wheat at :a<;;jlb, ;,s compared with Glib last season, the drop being due to the poor crop. AMBERLEY EWE FAIR. ANNUAL SALE OF STOKE SHEEP. I A very large all ndance of farmers was attracted to Amberley yesterday when the annual ewe fair was held. Those attending hud no reason to complain either in regard to numbers or quality of the entries, some of the sheep being of exceptionallv fine quality. The honour of topping the market went to Mr W. A. Patterson, of Amberley, I'M) half-bred two-tooth ewes making 45/3 each. The total number of sheep entered was 23,700 as against 22,000 at the sale last year. Prices were just about double those ruling at this time last season, and were on a par with recent Addington figures. The range of prices was as follows, last year's figures being given fn parentheses:— half bred ewes, best 40/6 to ! 45/3 (11/9 to 21/9); others 31/9 to 49/G (10/4 to 23/3). Pour year old half bred ewes, 30/- to 36/(16/8 to 18/3). Sound-mouth ewes, 33 '6 to 36/6 (11/- to 24/3). Failing-mouth ewes, 24/6 to 30/G (9/G to 16/-.) Aged ewes. 23/9 to 25/3. Threequarter-bred ewes, two-tooth 20/6 to 30/- (20/- to 28/6), four-tooth 29/G to 35/9, four year-old 24/6 to 34/6, sound mouUj to 35/9.
