At a meeting of the Sheffield Patriotic Committee, held last week, there was a good attendance. The president reported that Mr Neish would not accept any payment for ploughing the Memorial Reserve at Sheffield. He was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks. A letter was read from Corporal Jack Gayett, in which he feelingly referred to the late Frank Wilks, who was killed i-n Fiance. He also referred to Roily Harrison and Jack Taylor, some more of our boys who are so nobly doing their dutyAll arrangements have been made with Mr Raphael for a concert to be held on Saturday, March 24. at Shef lield. It was resolved to present souvenirs to the following:—Fred. Halliday, Win. E. .tones and Thomas Guy. The following is the report of the bandage class for the month of February: 4 body belts, IS chest bandages, 40 tri angular bandages, 10 head bandages 240 abdominal swabs, 16 do/- hander chiefs, (i pair bed socks, 160 face cloths 2!) knitted sox, 50 wringers, 16 pyjama suits, i) vests, 2 shirts, 28 plugs, 4 bind ers, 300 bandages, 10 tray cloths, 12 diet cloths, 10 dusters, 20 bottle covers. •10 tray covers, 600 round swabs, L ! boxes old linen, 1 parcel magazines, packed and sent forward on February 28. A meeting of the Committee of the Sheffield Tennis Club at. Air Mil lin's residence on Thursday last. when an invitation from the Papanui Tenuis Club, to play a return match on their court., on Kaster Monday, was accepted. It was decided to present the trophy, kindly given by Mrs McMillan and Mr (!. .1. Wright, to the winners of the late tournament, cm Saturday, March 17, on the court at Sheffield.
