PRACTISE WHAT YOU PREACH.

ITo the Editor of THE SUN. Sir,—There has been a great deal I of preaching going on lately by the i heads of various churches with reIgard to recruiting, but I notice : directly a clergyman js drawn for active service a protest is immediately made. Now, among the clergy there are plenty of men strong and healthy and just as well able to serve their country as an ordinary j layman. May I respectfully suggest j that their positions be filled up by lay readers, who are physically unfit or too old for active service? If such a suggestion was c.*"*ried out we should all be doing our ty for King and countrv.—l am. etc., CONSISTENCY.
