SOUTH NEW BRIGHTON.

£IO,OOO LOAN PROPOSAL. Councillor Bellamy on Tuesday evening addressed a meeting of ratepayers of New Brighton, under the auspices of the South New Brighton Burgesses' Association on the £IO,OOO loan proposal, and detailed the Government's sanction, the New Brighton Town Council's confirmation, and the extensive scheme of its application. Every street and road (ahoul twenty) in the South New Brighton area, he said, will participate in the street formation, kerhing, and channelling scheme. Mr Bellamy was presented.with an address, signed by about a hundred electors, recording appreciation of his services, and requesting his acceptance of nomination for the office of Mayor at the forthcoming election. Mr Bellamy consented to stand. Mr Bissctt and Mr Cargeeg were also nominated for seats on the council. Mr Bellamy has been previously elected on ten occasions to the council, and once as Mayor, and has also been successful at two by-elec-tions for the council.
