(Received December 11, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, December 10. The Pacifist Conference at Merthyr jTydvil, claiming to represent 323,767 I people, passed off peacefully. Messrs J. Winstone and Ramsay Mac Donald, ! M.P., were among the speakers. The conference recommended the Government to seek the earliest opportunity of promoting negotiations to secure a just, lasting and honourable peace; and also denounced military compulsion as involving industrial compulsion, and urged a return to voluntaryism.
