BANGIORA. j The president reports that during the months of October and November the members of the Red Cross were busy I with the Queen election in connection I with the N.A. and P.A. Show. Through I that channel the Red Cross funds will ; be considerably augmented, so that the | house-to-house collection which has been I going on for the last year, will be discontinued for a time. It is to be rej gTetted that several of our members of ! committee have been obliged, for varijous reasons, to resign. New members have, fortunately, been elected in their j places. Our very capable secretary, j Mrs Josling, has also been obliged to relinquish Red Cross duties, for which i we all feel regret, but hope that after [a few months rest she will be able to i take up Red Cross work again. Special ! gifts this month have been received I j from the following:—Mesdames Wright, ! Scott, NeVbery, C. Cunningham, Mr A. | Watson, Mr C. Foster, Mesdames H. ■ Taylor, Bransley, Banks, C. C. Paterjson and J. Mackenzie. The High i School Borough and Saltwater Creek Schools, and also St. John's Association, continue to work, material being supplied by the Red Cross Committee. i In October two efforts were made on [behalf of the Red Cross Queen —a .fiiirettc which was most successful, i£lsl being netted in one day, and a j concert given by Air Reay 's concert | party, which realised £3O. From the i work depot for October—6 dressiug- | gowns, 151 handkerchiefs, 6 draw ; sheets, 32 suits pyjamas, 13 bed jackets. 48 shirts, .TO under-shirts, 47 pairs socks, [ 17 bed socks, 73 pillow-slips. 1 knee-cap, ! 1 Balaclava. For November—Six dress-liug-gowns, 25 suits pyjamas, 33 under- ; shirts, 29 pairs socks, 15 bed-jackets, 3 pillows, 18 draw sheets, 6 Ijody belts, 42 I shirts, 13(5 handkerchiefs, 63 pillowj slips, 1 sack of scraps and papers. I From the bandage department.—lo j medicine, 70 operations. 720 swabs, 60 | abdominal swabs, 411 surgical veils, 60 j wringers. 100 binders, 150 manitails, 50 I fomentations, 9 dusters, 70 tray-cloths, ■ 423 roller bandages, 2 boxes scraps, 1 ' i box old linen.
