SWIMMING.

CHRISTCHURCH LADIES' CLUE

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the above club was held at the Tepid liatbs. There was a large attendance of members. The report for the past season showed that great interest bad j been taken in swimming and life saving. | On several occasions teams from the club i had given life saving displays. The club J mile standard medal bad been won by 10 members, two gaining the i mile standard. The Championship Cup bad been won by ' Miss Brandon, while the cup for life saving bad been won by Mrs Buchanan. Through- i out the winter months Bed Cross work had been done by the members. The report of the treasurer showed the finances to be in an excellent state, the balance for the year being til) 12/5. | The officers for the ensuing year were‘ elected as follow:-—Patroness, Mrs A. The following resolutions were passed unanimously :—"That this club places on record its appreciation of the assistance it has always received from Sergt.-Major Billson and Mrs Billson, and sincerely hopes that Sergt. Major Billson may be spared to return in health and strength to take up his customary duties again." also "That the club place on record its appreciation of the unselfish devotion to our Empire which has been shown by all members of the lifesaving societies aiid swimming clubs who have enlisted. To the relatives of those who had given the supreme sacrifice we tender our sincerest sympathy."
