REQUISITION OF WOOL.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR SCOURING. Mr W. R Parkinson, president of the Canterbury Sheepowners' Union, yesterday received the following telegram from the Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald, Minister of Agriculture, in reply to a telegram conveying the resolution passed at the conference held last Wednesday:— "Received your wire in connection with resolution passed, asking that-pro-vision be made for scouring a portion of the wool at local works. I may say, for your information, that I stated at the conference that, so far as possible, the whole of the wool would go through the usual channels, and the usual quantity for scouring would be retained and a fair proportion sent to the different scouring works immediately the big question is settled—that is, the tion of the wool clip. The next matter will be the arrangements for dealing with and the allocation of scouring wools.' '■ APPOINTMENT OF ARBITRATOR. The local committee appointed at last Wednesday's conference has been in telegraphic communication with the Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald, Minister of Agriculture, in regard to the adjustment of matters in relation to the valuation of wool. It is reported that the Minister and the committee have made an arrangement in regard to the appointment of an arbitrator for North Canterbury, which is expected to give satisfaction to all parties interested.
