GODFREY'S REVENGE.
BRANNIGAN BEATEN. j A tew weeks ago referee Arthur Scott erred in giving Patsy Brauuigan, an American feather-weight, a decision over Sir Godfrey, a rising young Sydney '' fedder. "I lowever, Godfrey avenged that piece of ill-fortune by stopping Brauuigan in the 17th round of their return contest in the Sydney Stadium on November 25. For the first half of the journey the contest was very even ('says the Sydney "Daily Telegraph"). Roth men were foxing remarkably well. hut. in the 13th Godfrey landed a heavy right up on Brannigan's head, which rattled him. Prom Cat out Godfrey had all the better of Die contest, and', making frequent play viili bin light, gradually weakened his opponent, la the 17th round Brannigan was down for Osec, and on regaining his feel was so weak that the referee (Arthur Scott) called a halt and awarded Hie fight lo Godfrey.
