SURF BATHING.

NEW BRIGHTON CLUB. The committee of the New Brighton Surf Club met last evening, Mr B. S. Knox (club captain) in the chair. Present: Messrs Chivers, Clarkson, Brittan, Soanes, Jones, Suter, and Messrs Blank and Smith, delegates from the North Beach branch. Four new members were elected to the main club, and eight new members were elected to the branch. Accounts amounting to £1 1/6 were passed for payment. A letter Was received from the Town Clerk, notifying the club that the matter of a site for the club house for the North branch had been referred to the committee for consideration and report. Messrs Knox, Stokes, and Clarkson were appointed a sub committee to revise the Roll of Honour. Mr Chivers brought up the question of notice boards ,and it was decided that the council be written to. asking that they move in the matter immediately. Mr Knox reported, on behalf of the sub-committee, the business of the North branch. The subcommittee recommended that a committee consisting of three members from the parent club aud the two delegates be appointed to manage the erection of the building and other business connected therewith. Messrs Chivers, Campbell, and Clarkson were appointed to act with Messrs Blank anil Smith, with full powers delegated to them. It was suggested that life-saving and reel work should be taught to the different schools, and that competitions be arranged when they are proficient.
