A combined meeting of the Wellington Railway Unions passed a motion; — “That the time has come when all railway workers should be united for their own protection.'’ The meeting also resolved to recommend the executives of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants and the Engine Drivers’, Firemen’s, and Cleaners’ Association to take a vote of the members on the question of the federation of the two bodies—in the event of the vote being favourable, an immediate conference to be held at Palmerston North to consider the question, and also any other schemes put forward by tho branches.
