The "Daily Chronicle's" Athens correspondent stales that Matron Dowse, of the hospital ship Britannic, says the explosion took place at breakfast time. "We hail no idea i that there was danger of the ship sinking, and all lined up on deck quietly. A few of the staff, who ; were sick, were carried up, and were got away safely. All the nursing I sisters were saved, but abandoned itheir medals and belongings. For I two hours the boats were near land Jin a smooth sea. Many suffering ;from strain became distracted."
