A few days ago a list of promotions of officers and non-commis-sioned officers serving in the field with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force was published. It contained the names of some* 60 non-commis-sioned officers who had been promoted to the rank of second-lieuten-ant. This week's "Gazette" shows that since the original recommendations were made 12 of the non-com-missioned officers have been killed, in action or have died of wounds.
