WOMEN'S RELIEF FUND.

A meeting of the Women's Committee of the Poor of Great Britain. Ireland, and Belgium Relief Fund was held on Wednesday. Present: Mesdames ; Lane (in the chair), A. Boyle, Bristed. Lee, R. W. Anderson, and Lavie, Misses |B. Tabart, Wislong, and L. Tabart (lion. secretary). Mrs Lane reported that she had attended a meeting of the executive, ami I that, most of the districts were now 'ready for collectors. Mrs Lane reported on the Belgian Festival, in ai<t of the Belgians, to be held in the Theatre Royal ou November 21, 22, and 2.'5. A sale of tickets and booking of seats had been held in the Square on November 8, and the committee had been greatly helped by the services of Messrs Milner and Thompson. Messrs Bell and Somerset attended all day to the booking office. Members present were asked To help with the sale of tickets for the festival.

The play had been written and carried out by Mr Wauchop, assisted by Miss Menzies, and promised to be one of the best productions, and unique of its kind in Christeliurch. The plav was founded on Japanese legends, which lend themselves to magnificent scenery and staging, and was entitled " TinDaughter of the Gods."
