From Our Oivn Correspondent The monthly meeting of the Sumner Red Cross Committee was held on Monday afternoon, the Mayoress presiding. The resignation of Mrs Crawford as a member of the committee was received with regret. Mrs Black, acting secretary, also asked to be relieved of her duties, and Mrs Buttle, sen., was appointed to act until Mrs Fergurson's return. The offer of Miss Johnson to arrange a concert in aid of the funds was accepted, as was also Mrs Isaac Wilson's offer to hold a garden party in her grounds some time in January. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £lO 10/11. It was decided to vote £l2 for bandage work ami £l2 for garments. The secretary reported that the following goods had been sent to the depot during the past month: —21 pairs socks, 1 pair bed socks, 2 pairs slippers, 9 pairs mittens, 10 bed jackets, 10 day shirts, 37 pyjama suits. Gifts in kind were received from Mesdames Thorpe, Garrick, sen., and Crawford. The sum of £5 13/- was netted 'as the result of the recent progressive euchre tournament. Mr ft.
